How to Activate Incognito Mode on Any Web Browser

How to Open Incognito Tab in All Browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Internet Explorer & Safari)

While you browse in incognito mode and private mode none of your browsing history is stored in your laptop, desktop and mobile phones. But this does not mean you are anonymous on the Internet. Every page that you simply visit still acknowledges your IP address. If somebody have ability to look at your ip address history for legal purpose, an ISP, website and even search engine server log may be used to track.

In this article we have explain how to enable your browser’s “incognito” or “Private” window in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer and Safari, which will allow you to browse without saving your history.

Tip: To exit incognito mode or private mode, close the private window and relaunch the browser as you normally would.

Firefox: Open New Private Window

Open the Mozilla Firefox browser and click ☰ in the top right corner of the firefox browser window.

Now, click New Private Window from the drop down menu that appears. After clicking this option will be launch a new private browsing window where you can browse an d download files without keeping your search history and a log of your downloads.  

  • Press Shortcut key Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows) and Command+Shift+P (Mac) to open a new private browsing window.

Google Chrome: Open Private Window

Open the Google Chrome browser and Click ⋮. in the top right corner of the Google Chrome browser window.

Now, Click New incognito window from the drop down menu that appears. After clicking this option new chrome window will be open in incognito mode.

  • Press Shortcut key Ctrl+Shift+N (Windows) and Command+Shift+N (Mac) to open a new incognito window quickly
  • After closing incognito window, page-viewing history and private browsing session will be erased.

Microsoft Edge: Open New InPrivate Window

Open the Microsoft Edge browser and Click “…” in the top right corner of the screen.

Now, Click on the New InPrivate window from the drop down menu that appears. After clicking this option will bring up a new private browsing window. Where you can view pages or download files without saving history.

  • Press shortcut key Ctrl+Shift+P to open a private browsing window in Microsoft Edge.
  • Closing the InPrivate window will take you back to your regular browsing window.

Internet Explorer: Open InPrivate Browsing

Open the Internet Explorer browser and Click (icon) on the upper right hand portion of the the browser window.  

Move the mouse pointer over the Safety. You’ll see this option near the top of the drop-down menu.

Now, Click InPrivate Browsing option. It’s close to the top of the pop-out Safety menu. Internet Explorer’s InPrivate Browsing window will be open after clicking InPrivate Browsing option. Where you can browse without saving your search history or a log of your downloads.

  • Press Shortcut key Ctrl+Shift+P to open a private browsing window in the Internet Explorer.
  • Exiting InPrivate Browsing will return you to your regular browsing session.

Opera: Open New Private Window

Open the Opera browser and click Opera menu button in the upper left-hand corner of the window.

Now, Click New Private Window from the drop down menu that appears. Doing so launch a new private browsing window where you can browse and download files without Opera keeping a record of your history.

  • Press Shortcut key Ctrl+Shift+P to open a new private browsing window.

Safari: Open Private Browsing

Open the Safari browser and click on the file menu in the upper left-hand corner of the browser window.

Now, Click New Private Window from the drop down menu that appears. Doing so launch a new private browsing window where you can browse and download files without Safari keeping a record of your history.

  • Press Shortcut key Ctrl+Shift+P (Windows) and Command+Shift+N (Mac) to open a new private browsing window.

Closing Thoughts
