Back in those good old days when the only brand name which was in Indians mind was Nokia, and after a long time of wait Nokia is back and back with the most glorious OS: Android. Nokia has launched already three of its smartphones i.e. Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3. The Finnish startup HMD Global which is behind the manufacturing and selling of Nokia-branded smartphones has launched these three smartphones in India on 14th June. Currently starting from Nokia 3 and eventually Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will be the Made in India smartphones.
Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 exclusively will be available via offline market in India with a respective price of Rs 9,499 and Rs 12,899. However that is not the case with Nokia 6. Nokia 6 is premium than other two devices and will be Amazon India exclusive costing Rs 14,999. From today’s onwards i.e. June 16 Nokia 3 is coming to India. Nokia 5 pre-bookings will start on July 7. Nokia 6 will take little bit more time to come to India as according to the company pre-bookings starting from July 14 and it will reach the market in the end of July.
Nokia 3 Specifications and Features
Nokia 3 is the first among these three smartphones entering in India first. It is a budget- level smartphone having a plastic body. It has 5-inches HD display resolution being 1280 X 720 pixels. The smartphone is protected with 2.5 sculpted Gorilla Glass on the top. It is a laminated display with a brightness of 450 nits. The Nokia 3 smartphones runs on MediaTek MTK 6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The phone comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which is expandable to 128 GB storage.
The camera is equipped with an 8MP shooter on the front and back exception being the rear camera will have a LED flash. The smartphone is powered by a 2650mAh battery with a Micro USB for charging. The smartphone supports USB OTG and 4G LTE. Sensors on board the Nokia 3 are Accelerometer, Light sensor, compass, gyroscope, proximity and NFC.
Nokia 5 Specifications and Features
Nokia 5 is a smaller version of Nokia 6 smartphone. It has similar metal design. It sports a 5.2 inches HD IPS display with 2.5 Corning Gorilla Glass on the top. The company claims 500 nits brightness on this smartphone’s display laminated and features “Sunlight visibility improvement”. The smartphone is dimensionally 149.7 x 72.5 x 8.05 mm.
Nokia 5 runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM, expandable upto 128GB on this phone. It has a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, 1.12um pixel size, f/2 aperture and dual tone flash. The front facing camera is 8MP with auto focus, 1.12um pixel size, f/2 aperture and 84 degrees field of view.
The smartphone has 3000mAh battery with no USB Type C but micro-USB for charging. Sensors are the same as that in Nokia 4 except a fingerprint sensor which is embedded on the front. Phone has a single speaker and having a 3.5 mm audio jack too. Nokia 5 does support 4G LTE.
Nokia 6 Specifications and Features
Nokia 6 the most premium smartphone among all three of these smartphones offered by HMD Global. On the display front it has 5.5-inches Full IPS display and a metal unibody design. The display has a scuplted Coring Gorilla Glass on the top with a pixel density of 403 ppi. It also has that “Sunlight readability” feature. The smartphone measures 154 x 75.8 x 7.85 mm dimensionally.
Nokia 6 runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor which is bit let down for a smartphone priced approximately Rs 15K. The smartphone is bundled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage(expandable to 128GB). This smartphone has another limited edition Arte Black colour variant which offers a better set of storage option i.e. 4GB RAM and 64 GB ROM but if this variant launches in India in future is not confirmed.
Sensors on the Nokia 6 are Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, Hall sensor, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, NFC (sharing). The fingerprint sensor is on the front. The Nokia 6 comes with Dolby Atmos support and dual speakers. The smartphone also comes with 4G LTE and supports 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20,28, 38, 40 bands of LTE which covers three of major bands in india except band 41.
These three smartphones will be running the latest and stock Android 7 nougat. Probably this could help them to stand out from the competition or frankly speaking, to remain in the competition. HMD Global has also promised an Android O update for these phones.
